Some close friends of ours that (that homeschool and housechurch :thumbsup :D) have an 11 yr old daughter, (my daughters close friend) that explained to me a wk ago how she couldn't sleep and was afraid to die. And how she prayed and prayed in tongues for an hour and afterward felt wonderful and could only think about the joy she would have to die for Christ in persecution.

Thanks MTD. May we all remember to pray for those brothers and sisters who are being persecuted even now. We don't know when the time will come that we have to face it. We need to pray that the Lord fill us with boldness to not deny him before men if and when that time comes.

Only the Spirit of the Lord could bring that kind of understanding and joy. That is an awesome story!

My wife and I were looking today in the Voice Of Martyrs Magazine September edition. There is a story about a believer in a Muslim village. Daily for 3 years Muslim groups came to his home to beat him. Yes you are reading that right. 3 years of daily beatings. They even once beat his 6 year old son and made his wife cook for them as they were doing it.

In our nation today if one might suggest we deny self and take up the cross to follow Jesus they would be mocked to scorn and accused of "legalism". Or "works" salvation.

Many American Christians don't have a clue about the consecration expected of a Christian. They will have none of it!

I can't imagine living in that kind of fear and persecution daily for years. I pray daily for all our persecuted brothers and sisters around the world.

Many grace preaching Christians are also led like lambs to the slaughter.

ok i detest this primarily because of the description of 'Muslim groups,' which i deny are similar to any Muslims i know...i think this long-sufferer might practice a little 'beautiful are the feet' here, imo...

Really? So its a lie? Or the Christian is to blame somehow? Or these aren't "real muslims"?
