I have heard tapes of him preaching long
years back.

I have heard a couple old messages by him. A brother came to our church for a stint of time because he was working in the area and he was out of Bro Hicks church. Wasn't he known to be a tremendous debater at one time?

I had a tape of him back in the eighties. He preached "The Life and Death of the United Pentecostal Church." Not what you think, from the title.

Marvin Hicks was a fantastic debater. He won a lot of trins to the truth of Acts 2:38. Praise God for his life and call!!!

I can't think of who he is, don't know that I ever heard him preach. Was he with the UPC?

He was one of their prominent conference preachers and the main debater for decades. Pastored in Corpus for years.

Actually never heard of him although I was raised in the UPC. Does that surprise anyone?

I thought very highly of him....never met him in person but got to spend some time w him on the phone, and still have a photo & letter he wrote back to me about 15 years ago. One of the best debaters I've heard, "back in the day"(over 100 public debates I think). Had a radio series called Sunday Night Live in Dequincy LA. that reached all over the world...Lotta great messages changed a lot of lives.
An elderly brother that attends my church here in the Midwest was "reached" looooong ago by Bro Hicks, in Corpus Christi I believe.

He was one of the greats in my book.
