Could you imagine the shock to our travel industry if that was the outcry of other nations concerning our flu epidemic that has killed 15 children-- an outbreak for which there is no cure?

While two thousand people may or may not die from the flu in America this flu season, many more THOUSANDS will become infected and get ill from the flu this season.

What should be the world's response to our flu epidemic? After all, those governments have a responsibility to protect their citizens!

Wait, I thought the flu vaccine was supposed to keep people from getting the flu! Oh, right, doesn't work because it's a different strain.

Why - I have just the solution for this epidemic... drink elderberry syrup, that's what! I've got some in my refrigerator, and I'll be glad to share the recipe should anyone want it. :)

Dude look up how many people die a year from the flu and tell me how 15 people dying is an epidemic? Its paranoia to sell meds. Thats it. Remember the swine flu epidemic?

Elderberry Syrup
2/3 cup dried or fresh elderberries (dried can be bought at amazon.com or at local health food store)
3-1/2 cups water
2 tablespoons fresh or ground ginger
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp cloves, whole, or powdered
1 cup raw honey - best if bought from a local farmer

Mix ingredients, EXCEPT HONEY in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer for 45 minutes or so, until liquid has been reduced to half. Remove from heat, and let cool. Strain the mixture into a glass bowl or measuring cup. Add raw honey and stir well. Pour mixture into a 16-oz canning jar with lid. Label the syrup. Store in the refrigerator.

Standard dose is 1/2 tsp to 1 tsp for kids and 1/2 Tbsp to 1 Tbsp for adults. If the flu does strike, take the normal dose every 2-3 hours instead of once a day until symptoms disappear.

My daughter got the flu over Christmas. We used the above recipe I posted, as well as other natural home remedies, and we didn't have to visit a doctor, and she was over the flu in a few days.

If I start feeling sick, I add garlic cloves to various dishes. My wife hates the smell, but it works!

I started this thread to show the contrast in response between Ebola and flu-- both of which can be deadly.

At least for Ebola, there appears to be some kind of cure, else everyone who contracted it would die.

For the flu, there is no cure.
