Who was saved or lost in Old Testament??

If one were to commit a sin and die before the High Priest made the annual sacrifice was said person lost?? How would you equate this to the true work of Calvary?

Titus 3:9 But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain.

I don't have exact scriptures, but I base it upon Hebrews 11. I believe then kingdom of God has always been built upon faith in Christ. Although full revelation was not yet revealed to them, I still believe that their faith is what brought about their salvation and not annual sacrifices. Their faith is what caused them to be obedient and make those sacrifices. Anyone prior to Jesus Christ who had true faith in God would later be covered by the sacrifice of Christ. I believe those who had faith and loved the Lord would have repented of their sin regardless of annual sacrifices. Their faith wasn't in their own sacrifices, but it was in the mercies of God.

I can understand that. But remember the law was pretty exact. Even the priest would be stricken if everything was not exact.

The thing is Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Moses, David all had sinned. If any where to not have sinned it would have to been before the next sacrifice unless they died simultaneously with the sacrifice of that year. That would mean that none would be saved prior to Jesus Christ. Because everyone died between sacrifices.

Faith is the central theme throughout the OT and NT.
