the problem is the way he words it makes it sound as if MOST people from Mexico are violent rapists and murderers.

He should have also specifically mentioned El Salvadore.

He should have mentioned that the REST of the criminals either were born here or immigrated legally from many nations like Chechnya

Chechnya? I live in Arizona and I've yet to read about an illegal immigrant arrested who was from Chechnya. Or El Salvador, for that matter.

Most of the illegals who make the paper here are indeed from our neighbor just a little over 3 hours away to the south.

I do agree he should have been more specific and clarified his comment better.

I couldn't vote for Trump. As much as I like that he isn't poll-driven, but speaks how he believes, he's incredibly arrogant and may even have a larger ego than obama.

Its says a lot about the GOP voters that he is leading the field after those comments. Also look at what he has said before and since those comments.

How dare anyone stand against illegal immigration and demand the govt do more to keep or even arrest violent felons so there's no other Kathryn Steinle killed by some thug who was deported several times previously, but was under protection by that idiot Sheriff in San Francisco who should have held the thug and notified ICE to pick him up, but didn't.

You are missing the point. I agree with the concept of stopping illegal immigration. I think SF's policies are wrong and someone in charge of those policies needs to be prosecuted for her death. But Look at what he said before, during, and after the interview. He made it seem like the only Mexican immigrants coming here are criminals. So what happens? He shoots up the polls. No one has a problem with that statement?

Ha. This is funny. Trump is a chump compared to our current President, and Hillary.

So Trump ruffled feathers. He ruffled the elitists from NBC, ABC, CNN, CBS, MSNBC, et al because he said something inartfully. There is A LOT of campaigning yet in the GOP. Hillary is virtually anointed by the Dems.

OMG---Hillary is a pathological liar and criminal and she gets treated with kit gloves. What does it say about the Democrats that she is their best chance at winning the White House?

I'm sure people would rather he had been more clear with the statements, and not make it sound as though the majority are rapists and scumbags. I don't believe the rise in the polls is just because of his comments. IMO, the polls are reflecting voters appreciation for someone not being afraid of what the media and liberal elites will try to do for speaking out on the issue.

Aside from all the negatives of his attitude, Trump is probably the most true to himself politician running right now. IMO.
