Basically it is the Constitutional method of last resort given to the States/people to preserve the Constitutional Republic. I am wary that even if the States can get it, the federal Government might see it as a declaration of war or an act of terrorism against the federal government.

It seems this is where the commoners are at. No other choice.

I heard about this on the Mark Levine radio show.

As a strict constitutionalist, I am for it. The founders were geniuses at devising this system of many checks and balances. Even a lone juror has way more power than the president, which is another built in check and balance.

This is a trap. Once a constitutional convention is actually put in place, ANYTHING GOES.

Remember the last one? It was SUPPOSED to just 'revise the Articles of Confederation'. Well, so much for THAT.

Considering the spiritual, moral, and ethical values (lol) of political leadership in this nation today, I wouldn't trust ANY kind of tampering with the constitution.

I said this awhile back (not too long ago, actually). People said it was an impossibility.

Ah, but now it's being touted on 'conservative talk radio'. It's being sold as a solution to our problems.

And it will probably happen. And guess what? They already have several draft versions of the 'new constitution' ready to go (just like the PATRIOT Act...) all nice and tidy for us.

We live in interesting times.

Well I guess your entitled to believe that. But where we are at now how for example do we stop same sex marriage? It takes 2/3 of the states so I don't think any thing crazy will happen.

I would rather have the states involved than 9 people deciding what's best for us.
