Email From Jeh Johnson, Sec'y Homeland Security
Since the attacks in Paris, many have asked about our process for admitting Syrian refugees into this country.
I understand the anxiety that many Americans are feeling right now. And as Secretary of Homeland Security, I share with President Obama the top priority of keeping the American people safe. So let me be clear about what this process of vetting and resettling refugees looks like. It's important to remember, we're focused on admitting the most vulnerable Syrians -- this means mostly women, children and families. Second, anyone who applies for and is approved for refugee status in the United States, including Syrians, must first go through a rigorous security screening process. Watch this video I narrated to see exactly what a potential refugee goes through to resettle in the U.S.: https://www.whitehouse.gov/blog/2015...-process-looks |

I was sent the same email yesterday. Thousands of Iraqi refugees have entered our country over the last several years. Since none of them have exposed themselves to be terrorists, the feds must be screening them properly.

WAITING, pausing, just taking a break for a bit to make sure we are getting this right won't hurt a single thing. You all know we halted immigration from the 1920s-1965? Why did Republican and Democrat presidents alike support that moratorium? Because our nation had accepted so many immigrants at the turn of the century, we gave them time to assimilate into American culture, learn the language, have children and grow them up into our culture---Americanize them. Pausing the flow of Syrian refugees can't hurt a thing. How many terrorists slipping through the cracks is acceptable? I say even if ONE terrorist slips into our nation it's one too many. How many of our citizens have to be put at risk? If we had a shopping mall full of clocks and said "don't worry they all are harmless except ONE is a powerful bomb that could blow up an entire shop"---would you be okay with that? Would you be willing to put yourself or your family at risk and shop knowing there is a slight chance it might be you and yours? I guarantee you this, if a terrorist slips into this country because we don't stop and make sure we are doing this right, if it's your life and limb or someone you love that gets killed or maimed, your opinion on Syrian refugees will dramatically shift. |

Of course 99.9 of these aliens are NOT Muslim. Juan, Pedro and Jose come for the jobs, not to change our religion. |

Re: Email From Jeh Johnson, Sec'y Homeland Securit
• The Assad family belongs to the tolerant Islam of Alawid orientation.
• Syrian women have the same rights as men to study, health and education. • Syria women are not forced to wear the burqa. The Sharia (Islamic law) is unconstitutional. • Syria is the only Arab country with a secular constitution and does not tolerate Islamic extremist movements. • Roughly 10% of the Syrian population belongs to one of the many Christian denominations, all fully integrated in Syrian political and social life. • In other Arab countries the Christian population is less than 1% due to sustained hostility. • Syria has banned genetically modified (GMO) seeds, stating his decision was made in order “to preserve human health,” • Syria has an opening to Western society and culture like no other Arab country. • Its media and universities openly debate the global power elite’s influence in things. This means that they fully grasp the fact that real power in the West lies not in the White House but rather with the complex and powerful grid of elite think-tanks and central banks. • Throughout history there have been five popes of Syrian origin. Religious tolerance is unique in the area. • Prior to the current civil war, Syria was one of the only peaceful countries in the area, having avoided major wars or internal conflicts. • Syria clearly and unequivocally opposes Zionism and the Israel government. • Syria is one of the only countries in the Middle East without debts to the International Monetary Fund ( Libya & Iran the only others ) • Syria was the only country that admitted Iraqi refugees without any social, political or religious discrimination • And the most important point: Syria is the only Mediterranean country which remains the owner of its oil company, with an oil reserve of 2,500 million barrels, the operation of which has avoided privatization and is reserved exclusively for state-owned enterprises. So now ask yourself, why are we truly attempting to overthrow yet another government? What are we hoping to fix here? |
