5 states account for more than half of the homeless in the his country. The great GOP states of Florida and Texas are part of the five. NY, MASS, and CAL are the other two. So whats going on in FLA and TEX?

Tough stat to measure.
Good weather means more homeless.
I think you could discount Fla, Tx and Cal due to the weather.
A huge percent of the homeless popluation is mentally ill.
But, they cannot be locked up unless they are a threat.
The closure of most state mental institutions in the late 60's/early 70's, led to the increase in the homeless population.
It also led to the boom in the prison population.

Another factor that contributes to the homeless in Cali anyways, is foster care. A lot of homeless youth in Cali are aged out of foster care with no where to go.

Also, notice how deacon doesnt give any specifics that lead to the homeless population. He just wants to see that there is DEM leadership and put the blame there. Give specifics with evidence.

Sadly, Vets make up a large portion of homeless here.

I really believe this is where we (including myself) as the church have fallen down on the job.
We are so busy with our lives and "winning souls", that we forget we are called to minister to these, as well.
I feel conviction as I write this.
God help me to see what to do.

Its because we are to involved in politics. Because of that we put down the poor. "Their to lazy." "Get a job." GOD never called us to get involved in politics. He called us to help the poor, widows, and the sick.
