Church History

Anyone have any recommendations for books on early Church history? My interest is the Ante-Nicene period and even maybe some input on the Apostolic Age as well. Preferably something without a strong catholic influence.

FF Bruce's New Testament History.

Schaff's Ante-Nicene Fathers (online) and History of the Christian Church (online).

Bernard has a couple I've read, basic historical information: History of Christian Doctrine Vol I.

Gibbon's Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire (highly recommended by me).

I have other books at home that are online, can't remember the titles off hand, I'll post links later.

God in Patristic Thought by Prestige was a great read.

Reading the Apostolic Fathers was also time well spent.

I've been reading through Schaffs History (on volume 4 now), its long and many times tedious, but overall enjoyable.

Have read Latourette (vol 1).

Read Bernards, all 3 volumes, (and enjoyed it most, much better flow and writing style, though not as much info, and of course a oneness perspective-bias, but not too heavy).

Also FF Bruce NT History (ok, but i cant remember much of it).

I've git Eusebius Ecclesiastical History on my shelf, opened it once, hope to read it eventually.

I love church history.

Its powerful. Much if not most of it details the sufferings of the disciples over the years.
