Christmas doesn't include Santa Clause for everyone. We have never taught there was a Santa Clause to our children, so no, the Virginia thread isn't a Christmas thread per se.

I still have my mothers's Manger scene from when I was a child and a Roman Catholic. My Joseph lost his hand some years ago and I have a lamb missing a leg. This was the first year I didn't put it out. I chose a Melissa and Doug children's Manger scene. I like to read the Christmas Story and have the children hold their characters until it is time to place them in the appropriate spot. For me, it is the way I have found to focus on the true meaning of Christmas aside from all the commercialization, which I am also not opposed to.
