Standing in line on the way to the slaughterhouse, Bessie said to Belle "I think we're enslaved to these ranchers, and they're gonna eat us, and there's nothing we can do about it."

Belle mooed back at her, "Speak for yourself! See my rump? See that big Brand X? That's a different brand than all you folks got. These ranchers don't own me, I'm free!"

And they all shuffled a little closer to the chute. Belle included.

They say that, unlike most of the others, she balked once she got to the slaughterhouse, but she still wound up in clingwrap at the meat market.
