All of ya'll decipher this!

I went fishing yesterday on the lake. The fish were in deep water and I finally caught a bunch of them even in this scorching heat. Now, ya'll tell me how big was the lake? How deep were the fish? How many is a bunch? How hot was it?

I seldom fish in the summer heat.

I suspect the lake was large and deep enough to have a thermocline and the fish were in it or beneath it but still in water that had oxygen in it.

Catfish have just came off the nest and are hungry, so that's what you caught.
Fished a lake, that's bigger than a pond or you wouldn't be calling it a lake, you were drift fishing 35-40' deep because that's where the shad are located and the water is cooler that time of day, and you were drift fishing while jugs were out (jug fishing), caught 16 fish total because that number falls under the category of "a bunch" when it comes to catfishing, and the temperature got up to 92 degrees, cause its cotton pickin hot this time of year.

Got any hard questions?

Thanks for the response. The lake is about 5000 acres. The fish were in 14-16 feet of water. I was vertical jig fishing and caught over 100 crappie. You pegged the temp. Now, does all of this matter? If you wanted to go to the same area I did and catch crappie.. yes. However, if you would have read my post and took it to mean exactly how you laid it out and went and caught 16 nice catfish you could even more easily argue the point of your "accuracy". Now we both have fish to eat and both had a good time and both could use the same exact words of my first post to tell our fish story. Now to finally get to my point ever how simplistic it may seem to all you theologians here. There is a lot of scripture that is non specific or written in a cultural context that some have deciphered to mean something ( various holiness standards) and then have taken that interpretation and made it a salvific doctrine. God is willing none perish. So much so he gave Noah very specific instructions on building the Ark, same details on handling the Ark of the Covenant, and how the High Priest were to handle things. So much so he sent Jesus with a very specific plan that fulfilled prophecy. So much so that He made sure it was Peter (who was given the keys to the kingdom) who gave the Acts 2 message. Now IMO if all these so called holiness standard were salvific God would have made sure it was as black and white as Acts 2:38!

Bro I appreciate your POV. I don't think you are here as a hater, I think you are sincere.

It is interesting to me how people who are very intelligent and well versed in scripture as are some on this forum can come up with different interpretations, (particularly with eschatology)

I believe a good case can be made from scripture for holiness standards, though I don't necessarily see them as salvific.

What I have seen is people who are sincerely maintaining a lifestyle of modesty and separation from the world; and even if their standards are not salvific, they kept them walking closely with God.

I have also seen people throw standards out the window and watched them stray into questionable territory, throw salvific doctrine out the window also, and wreak havoc in people's lives.

I watched a church throw standards out the window and become a pale sick shell of the power and anointing of the Holy Ghost that was a light and soul saving station to our community.

I spent a time without a church before walking back into my current church where the presence of God gave me assurance that I was in the right place.

I know you will likely pick this post apart and I will not defend it.

No interest in picking your observations apart. I don't like mine picked apart. You see the Bible says work out your own salvation. I can walk down the beach and see nearly nude women and not think twice. My BIL however not so much. I could see a gram of cocaine and a bottle of whiskey and not even cross my mind to take a swig or snort a line. However I tend to curse like a sailor and harbor some hatred (not with a church or org.). I am not against anything that will help YOU make it. MY struggle is not the same as yours and vice versa.

But if thy brother be grieved with thy meat, now walkest thou not charitably. Destroy not him with thy meat, for whom Christ died.

Bro Joe, if you really feel this way why do you keep challenging other poster's beliefs on holiness and Oneness?

Just my observation..
