Foreign Language courses?

Can anyone recommend a GOOD, as in effective, foreign language course provider besides going to a college/school or going out of country?

Something you've actually used with good results.

They're all really the same, different publishers.

Do you want something other than the typical CD's and workbooks?

Something I can put on a laptop or PC. Two of my kids got Rosetta Stone, they liked it, but they didn't complete the whole program yet. I've read awful reviews about how Rosetta Stone isn't really practical for developing fluency though.

They have a better chance if they practice together. Immerse them in material of whatever language they are learning.

I have some material from Living Language. It's rather boring. I didn't get past chapter 3.

What language?

In college, several of the different textbooks I needed to buy for my different foreign language pursuits came with CD-roms or DVD's with all of the book's content. So, for example, when I was studying Arabic, I also used the disc and worked from the PC. Lots of interactive features.

So maybe if you peruse a college bookstore website, you might find what you're looking for.

https://www.amazon.com/Al-Kitaab-fii.../dp/158901104X

We used these in our class.

BBC may still offer courses in their website.
