Wife's first Pentecostal Service
My wife and I attended a Pentecostal church while on a trip recently, her first complete service. It was a morning service and lasted over 2 hours. 2-3 times worship turned into crying out and moans and groans. She understood and liked the majority of the service but couldn't wrap her herself around the constant crying out. She took it as something sad and depressing and couldn't relate.
I reflected back on my many years in pentecost and how the majority of the time the atmosphere was similar rather than a shouting, victorious mood. I was usually connected to the flow of the spirit but do recall getting to the point of "here we again". Maybe I just really wasn't spiritual enough after all. |

I weep because he loves a sinner like me. I weep because I'm unworthy of his mercy, let alone his spirit. I weep because I have hope. I weep for the lost souls that have never felt what I feel. It's hard to describe that kind of intimate experience to someone who has never felt it. My advice would be to start by teaching your wife several basic bible studies on the holy ghost. |
