Prayer. Not a request.
More of a question? Or a few questions.
How long do you pray? Do you pray every day? Do you feel bad for not praying for everyone that you know? Do you speak in tongues when you pray, or every time that you pray? I feel like I don’t pray long enough... or for enough people. And I’m sad. |

I do much more listening than I do speaking. I feel that if Im praying the same requests over and over that it goes from praying to nagging and to me nagging is unbelief and since God is not pleased with unbelief I make requests just to cover the scripture,"Ye have not because ye ask not." and once I make them I just mention those requests in thankfulness that He has answered my prayer. As far as length of time in prayer...I couldnt answer that specifically because Im always meditating on Him and He talks to me pretty regularly. Its not always" Heaven kissing the Earth"...its alot of conviction and things I need to work on and sometimes its Him alerting me to coming battles and struggles that are ahead. Sometimes its aspects of His nature He will reveal through bringing out scripture where I get to know His nature and who He is more. One way God has spokento me through the years is that He deliver messages to me and Ill hear someone preaching in my mind...sometimes me and sometimes someone else. One thing its done is mademe realize how much the enemy will try to fill your life with useless junk to where you dont develop that ear for hearing Him. Yesterday I contacted the local internet company pricing service and I was imaging a nice 4k 55+ flatscreen with a PS4....man I was wanting to get back into gaming sooooo bad and God very clearly tells me in the midst of my gaming "fantasy"..."I did not put you here and bless you so that you could heap to yourself of your own lusts." Buzzkill right? What Ive learned is that God really begins to speak once you start making steps to obey what you already know...as you obey and show interest in obeying Him and getting to know Him, He begins to speak more and more giving you opportunities to obey more and more. Hes like a love interest that you observe from afar that has certain likes and dislikes...once you make an effort to approach them with those in mind you learn more and more about them. Sorry if this seems rambly or out there. Just responding truthfully about how it is for me. |
Re: Prayer. Not a request.
I like your comments Jedi. I also can't quantify prayer time because I'm always talking and listening through out the day.
Prayer is more of a life of staying in communication with God, washing my mind with His Word, and finding a place of separation from the world so my mind is uncluttered from the world. yeah, it's difficult to watch 4 episodes of Walking Dead, spend 3 hours playing Rift and walk in the Spirit at the same time. |

Much of my prayer time is trying to find the mind of the Spirit and praying accordingly. |
