Oneness Pentecostal songs?
Does this jive with our OP doctorine, and fine to sing in our church meetings?
Godhead three in one, father, spirit, and son... Should it be sang “IN” son, instead of and son? Sang as is...not sang at all..? Does it send a short not so sweet trinitarian doctrinal message to our kids that we need to address/untangle? https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=KBD18rsVJHk |
Re: Oneness Pentecostal songs?
We change the lyrics a bit:
The Godhead all in one - Father, Spirit, Son. You can also just sing the chorus and bridge |
Re: Oneness Pentecostal songs?
I have heard Apostolic churches sing the lyric as written, and personally have no problem with it...Jehovah God is revealed as "Father, Spirit, Son."
However, I heard the Rock Church in Elk Grove/Sacramento sing, "The godhead, He is one, beside Him there is none..." |

if people are so afraid of Trinitarian songs, write oneness songs. lol A church girl snapped at me when I suggested that the oneness people need to start writing songs. Foaming at the mouth... |

Re: Oneness Pentecostal songs?
The first recording of this song was:
"The Godhead Three in One Father, Spirit, Son" A later recording changed the last line to: "Father, Spirit and Son" I was a worship leader when this song first came out and had no issue singing it at a UPC church without any changes. The UPC church I currently attend has changed the wording. I'm not fond of changing lyrics, but some churches do. |
