Poll: Church And Streaming Video

Is a Churches streaming video valid if one can get more truth than at a local Church? Think of it first off like this:

You are in a town with no Jesus name Church. You could drive (just for example) 100 miles to the nearest Apostolic Church. Or you could go on U TUBE or some other streaming video set up and "in spirit" be with a Church anywhere in the nation or even in the world?

Or maybe you would decide only a Church building set up counts as Church and go to a Charismatic Church 2 blocks away.

I think it's pretty clear what "assembling of ourselves together" means.

It doesn't mean I can turn on FB live or Youtube or GodTV to watch ihop and call it good.

How far would you be willing to drive for a Church that believes lets say in Acts 2:38 and Oneness?

Currently we drive 40 miles to a small church we attend. There are several others closer, but we attend there. Unless you are in the sticks, I find it hard to believe there's not an A/P church within a short distance.

The two options for your poll are not mutually exclusive. One can certainly get more truth via streaming video (or audio, or text). No different than reading a book or a tract. But that cannot replace assembling together with other born again believers. The church is local. That means it is a local assembly of real people who have been born again and who are in fellowship with one another.

I have asked this before. I think you have mentioned you were previously an elder of a local house assembly? So... why isn't that still the case? Is your wife born again? Then the two of you constitute the nucleus of an assembly-to-be. So why not pray about outreach and begin reaching out to your local community, and see if the Lord will not build a church in your neighborhood? And if not, once you become aware of that fact and it is confirmed to you, why not travel somewhere else and start a work there? You seem to be gifted with boldness for public preaching and witnessing. Many churches have been started exactly that way. With the internet and social media, youtube, etc the task should be easier than it was say 20 years ago.

It is one thing to complain about the state of religion in America. It is another thing to take the bull by the horns and do something about it. :)

What if he is not called to be a pastor?

Many years ago I ventured to a far away land called Utah. Before I found the what was UPCI at the time I visited an AofG. Pastor back home was ok with that because he said it was important for me to be in church. I was thinking, “I’m the one that is saved and you’re ok with me sitting under a trinitarian pastor.”
Very odd, because he is a staunch 3 stepper.

A pastor is a teaching elder. He teaches. He's older. Besides, God will raise up within the church whoever He needs to get whatever job done. As long as everyone abides by the Word all will be well. If they don't, then nothing is going to matter anyway.
