Child Vaccinations
1 Attachment(s)
Are you for, or against some, all, none?
Are you for them? Please share your view, and why. Are the decisions you make on which ones are acceptable, somewhat based on the area you live, and the risks that go with that? (IE: You live in an area where many do not vaccinate at all, like near old order Mennonite groups or what have you...) It is my understanding regarding live vaccines, if a child, say at 2 months old (please see attached chart) were to receive a (live) vaccine for polio, and they do not take that vaccine, I have to weigh 2 risks: 1) the side effect risk(s) that comes w taking the vaccine(especially live vaccines) 2) if they don’t take it, and are thruout their lifetime ever near someone who has just taken the live vaccine(within 5 days of taking the shot) they could get/catch, whatever that person was vaccinated for. This is called “shedding”, I believe. We have always avoided live vaccines w my children, but have done whooping cough because the vaccine is not live, and whooping cough can kill, and it has been in our area in the past, some. |
Re: Child Vaccinations
We vaccinated our kids, and no strange side effects so far. They're both twelve (one from a previous).
There are definite risks with not vaccinating. But it's really all about you're comfort level, and feelings as a parent. Whatever your choice, your choices should be respected. But here are some links to stories about a church that preached against vaccinations. They became ground zero to a measles outbreak. This caused them to change positions on this, and even provide the congregation vaccinations. https://www.npr.org/2013/09/01/21774...asles-outbreak https://www.dallasobserver.com/news/...church-7110747 https://m.huffpost.com/us/entry/3818418 https://www.google.com/amp/religion....not-shots/amp/ |
Re: Child Vaccinations
Recently I have seen a commercial for meningitis B. They want teens to get vaccinated. Wasn’t a thing when I was a teen.
Is it me, or are they coming up with more vaccines? |
Re: Child Vaccinations
If one were to allow their children to attend a public school, it would be incredibly unsafe to not vaccinate them, but I think it would be unsafe to not vaccinate children anyway. I do not think the vaccines are causing autism.

I had about 5 when I was a kid in the 70s. When I had my first child, the vaccine card had about 10 or 12 on it, and they have to get them every few months their first year. Ridiculous. I fought against most of them, but allowed a few. |

Re: Child Vaccinations
I just looked up vaccines for adults. Tetanus and influenza. But they want your kids to get 20 injections before they reach 18. (I didn’t count) |
Re: Child Vaccinations
Well, as time passes there are advancements, new vaccines for new diseases, updated vaccines from what have been deemed ineffective, etc.
I also don't believe vaccines are the cause of autism. It's natural to want to blame something, and some parents might want a settlement out of it. But I think genetics, previous drug use, diet, and essential vitamins and minerals are bigger factors. |
Re: Child Vaccinations
More diseases are mutating.
Because people are NOT getting even routine vaccinations. Babies and children are getting these would-be rare diseases in the U.S because their ignorant parents are walking around with tin-foil hats. |
Re: Child Vaccinations
Get all your shots. Same for your kids.
