Trump has not started a war in Syria. He did authorize a strike in retaliation for an alleged attack, but that's it.

I think we need something in the budget domestically that would cause us to seriously consider the cost of going to war. Many nations hesitation to rush to war because their biggest budget item is healthcare. And to wage large scale war would mean seriously curtailing healthcare benefits, which would anger the people. Now, of course, if their nation was under attack they would sacrifice healthcare spending to wage war to defend their boarders and way of life. But, most nations don't have anywhere near the amount of money to play with, when it comes to defense spending, to just rush to war all over the globe.

After the World Wars, the industrial military complex became a real big part of our economic system.

I think focusing on healing America with a focus on healthcare and mental health would not only be good for the health of the people... but it would tie up resources commonly used for war in a domestic effort that would cause our leaders to pause before spending trillions on bombing all over the world like it is no big deal. It puts the industrial military complex on a diet, so to speak. lol
