1 AN ACT concerning business.

2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:

4 Section 5. The Business Corporation Act of 1983 is amended
5 by adding Section 8.10.1 as follows:

6 (805 ILCS 5/8.10.1 new)
7 Sec. 8.10.1. Composition of board of directors.
8 (a) No later than the close of the 2020 calendar year, a
9 publicly held domestic or foreign corporation whose principal
10 executive offices, according to the corporation's SEC 10-K
11 form, are located in Illinois shall have a minimum of one
12 female director and one African American director on its board
13 of directors. A corporation may increase the number of
14 directors on its board to comply with this Section."

Just one of the reasons I left Illinois after two years.
They have ran a great state into the ground.
This will likely wind up in SCOTUS.
And who knows how this one gets ruled on.

It says "must be part Sub-Saharan African".

How in the world would that be verified? Genetic DNA testing? Forced DNA testing to run a corporation in Illinois?

I would expect this kind of craziness in communist, racist South Africa, but Illinois? Really?

This is going to smack a lot of people awake as to what agendas are actually afoot in this nation. The results won't be pretty, I'm afraid.

This will pass in IL. It's cleared the House and will easily pass in the Senate where it's a 40-19 Democrat majority.

If there is a lawsuit and it reaches SCOTUS, I don't see how it holds. The government cannot mandate this kind of action. SCOTUS has ruled in favor of private businesses vs government mandates before, so I don't believe this law would hold up if SCOTUS ruled on it.

I honestly don't see a business filing suit against it. Imagine the backlash from the liberal mob if they tried.

How does one prove it? Paper trail or DNA? Does one have to have a certain amount of melanin and a curl to one's hair? Would an E1b1a Y-DNA chromosome suffice? Will an L1, L2 or L3 mitochondrial haplogroup work, all of which are proven to be African? Or do you have to just be "African" in your heart, like that white lady out in Spokane?

This is ridiculous. What is our poor country coming to?

There have always been fringe nuts. This isn't new and shouldn't be a surprise. Government didn't just begin trying to regulate businesses, it's been doing that for over a hundred years.

Seems like the fringe nutters have made a lot of headway the last 20 years, especially the last decade or so. Fringe acceleration effect, I guess.
