Kid's Church Ideas?
Howdy Folks!
We are in the process of altering our kid's church format. Our age group is 6-12. Do you guys have any recommendations for lesson plans and group activities? Any websites that are loaded with info? Thanks |
Make a comparison of parents and God the Father. Tie in parental discipline with being cast into the depths of hell!!!!
Don't just tell them that... make it into a puppet show. |

Super Energy Kids Church Format is what we used. I have a pair of size 70 dress pants that I put a hula hoop in the belt loops and hung bicycle horns off of. I have work suspenders holding this up with buttons on the suspenders. I wear a multi-colored afro, with funny glasses I lose in the bit to show my real face. I don't use paint to hide and do all I can to NOT SCARE the kids. Power Hour books are $$$$ but with a Tape or CD can be plug and play. Street Rage took same formats in a different vein and added games and using local merchants for giveaways. Costs About $100 for howto/supplies/books or go down to Blytheville, AR on a Saturday and see the program in action. The AOG Missionaries to the Phillipines Darrell and Sandy Blatchley used to have a great webpage also. I could not find it active or being updated. Similiar Blog not updated since 08/2006 Family Circus Blog I believe in Sunday School! [YT="If we don't reach them by age 14 - 94% are lost"]ILOc_sDb3lA[/YT] |
You can use any curriculum and tweak it to suit your needs.
The UPC has a Children's church program. I liked a couple of them, especially the "Good Ship" or whichever has a ship theme. That was probably the best out of them all. Master's Care was pretty good. The Power Tool Box is an older program, but it is great! We had great success with this one. This is also a very awesome Children's Church program! http://www.forwordintl.com/ |

I did not like the Garage Theme, or the Gymnasium. Going to heaven was fun as we put fluffy clouds on the ceiling. Puppets, bad jokes, and balloon animals... all work. The Ramsay's have a book with a DVD slide show (why it is a DVD is beyond me) for I think $18. He was a maintenance man (janitor) in a school and for 16 yrs has great success with hundreds filled with the Holy Ghost. Does not take rocket science to do Sunday School. |

The AOG does Sunday School on Wednesday Nights. Good Puppets are about $35 each. Quote:

We did Children's Church on Wednesday nights. We are getting ready to get back into that. I was just loaded down with a bunch of material yesterday. Time to revamp the costumes. I made some awesome Angel's wings for our lesson this morning. The little girl didn't want to take them off and sat on the floor through the whole class. lol! |
