Dilemma

There are 5 guys sharing an apartment. It’s been very hot in the evenings. All except 1 want the AC running so we can sleep comfortably. The 1 guy that doesn’t want the AC on will turn the thermostat to warm because he is always cold. Probably because he is always on some type of substance.

Anyway... is there a way to tinker with the unit so that we can access the AC but disable the heater?

Don’t mess with the heating unit.

I have a better idea. Deal with the source of discomfort.

The individual.

But don’t tamper with the equipment.

If this situation cannot be solved through reason.

Then you might have to just suck it up for the sake of Holy Ghost peace of mind.

Praying that Jesus gets you through this.

After work he’s constantly smoking bowls and drinking beer. Both of which lower body temperature.

He turned the heater on a few minutes ago. I walked to the thermostat and removed it from the wall. We don’t get AC. He doesn’t get heat. And I opened the bedroom window.

Suck it up... it’s difficult sleeping in an oven. If I can’t sleep... it makes work difficult.

Yes it’s very easy to disable the heating portion.

How about tell the doper to hit the road?

If I’m understanding correctly. You want the ac to run while not allowing the burners to engage.

1- Go to the furnace
2- open the doors of the unit
3- locate the circuit board
4- you’ll see different color wires going into letter terminal.
Y1, Y2, W, G, R, C
Remove the wire going into the “W” terminal
The heat will not engage, be sure to remove the same wife from the stat unless you forget and engage the heat on the stat and short the wire and blow a fuse on the board.

Or even easier just go to the thermostat and remove the “w” wire and clip it or put electrical tape over it.

I’m with Esaias. If you get caught with dope in the house, you may be getting free rent. In that case none of y’all are gonna be setting the thermostat. Unless you have a get out of jail free card.

And if you go to jail, you won’t be able to post on AFF. That’s the last thing you want to happen....
