It's never too late to learn a new instrument

I was at our local music store today looking in the used "bone yard" (after plucking a few guitars) and just happned to see a flute. Our Youth Pastor just bought a cheap violin and is learning to play it, he is also a great worship leader. Well anyway, I thought to myself, why not learn a new instrument. I have played, piano, slide trombone, tuba, and guitar. Why not add one more?

So, I got on Ebay tonight and bought a better flute than the one at the music store for 1/6 the price. It was still a "student flute" but you have to start somewhere.

What advice can some of you flautists give a newbie? :D (or have I just wasted my $26.00?) :lol

My wife plays some - or used to... Merna Appleton taught her.

But I don't have a clue....

The way I learn a new instrument is to mimick one with my MIDI guitar! LOL!

Flutes are so awesome. Two of my sisters used to play them.

I want to buy a clarinet. I haven't played in years and I loved it! When I graduated my mother sold my Noblet, which was in a crocodile skin case! Waaaaaaa! A Noblet is the best!!!

I ran across one about 12 years ago in a pawn shop! I could kick myself for not picking it up. Totally wooden and wonderful! Waaaaaaa!
