2 meetings on Sunday?
Anyone still do 2?
Or has everyone went to one? For years I thought we would be the last to go to one service on Sunday. But a couple years ago it happened. It’s been one on Sunday every since. I’m not bragging or complaining, just wondering where others are at. |
Re: 2 meetings on Sunday?
Well, it depends on how you look at ours. My pastors oversee two churches (and bishop over a third one) and we have two different services on Sunday, but at two separate churches.
We have one on Sunday mornings at 10:00am for Sunday school and 11:00am for worship and preaching, and we have the other on Sunday evenings at 6:00pm. The buildings themselves are about 45 minutes or longer away from one another. Most (but not all) of our church family goes to both services. So, it really depends on how you look at it for us. We have two services, just not at the same church. |
Re: 2 meetings on Sunday?
I highly doubt the early church in Acts met twice in one day for church.

We still have 2 services but it is good in our case for sharing in ministry. We have multiple preachers in our church and we try to create opportunities for people to grow in their ministry. Our church is small and we are not performance based. |
Re: 2 meetings on Sunday?
The Church I attend still has 2 services on Sunday.
10 and 6. |
Re: 2 meetings on Sunday?
Just started attending a church that starts sunday school at 9 and usually goes to 130 or 2 when you add in the worship service. We drive a bit to get there so we appreciate not having 2 back to back services and just the consolidation of the one.

Re: 2 meetings on Sunday?
Acts 20:7 And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight. 8 And there were many lights in the upper chamber, where they were gathered together. 9 And there sat in a window a certain young man named Eutychus, being fallen into a deep sleep:and as Paul was long preaching, he sunk down with sleep, and fell down from the third loft, and was taken up dead.
Be careful about falling asleep in church.lol |
Re: 2 meetings on Sunday?
For many years we've been down to a single service on Sunday morning (split between Sunday School and combined morning service), but starting in November we're going back to having 6pm service on Sunday night.
