What does it mean to 'witness' to people?
What does it mean to 'witness' to people?
Is it truly a biblical command to do it the way we do? Or is it a misconstrued, misunderstood concept? Is there something deeper here that lies below the surface? |
Acts 1:8 (KJV) 8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Being RIGHT is all that matters. As long as we tell 'em THE TRUTH, it don't matter how we say it. |

It's the ONLY thing that is important. We just need to tell 'em "OBEY ACTS 2:38" and if they don't like it, they didn't want the truth anyway. ;) |
Luke 14:23
And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled. We have to Go and COMPEL meaning we have to go out to find the lost and then compel them to get right with God. Jude 1:23 And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh. Some times we have to save them by telling them what will happen if they dont get right with God Ezekiel 3:18 When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand. We must warn the wicked! None of these scriptures show a way to win souls by looking nice, by being nice or by living right. We must go to win the lost! |
I believe we need to be "wise as serpents and gentle as doves".
If no man can come to the Lord unless the Spirit draws, then we just need to be sensitive to the leading of His Spirit. IMO, if the timing is not right in a person's life, it just isn't going to work. Our example is our biggest witness, as has been already stated. |
