What's your Story?
We all have a story to tell. Some of us have been raised in church all of our
lives. Others came from different Christian backgrounds, and God led us into the truth. Some of us used to be pretty wild. Others never strayed from the church. I would like for everyone to tell a little bit about themselves. Particularly, how you came to know the Lord. Also, what do you do for a living etc..... I've put my testimony on this forum before, so I'll be brief and to the point. If anyone wants to know more, I can expound on it later. I was raised Southern Baptist. My dad was a medical professional, and the president of the local country club. As a teenager, I'm in my low 40's now, I quit attending church, got on drugs and nearly destroyed my life. Before I got into such a mess, I had visited a Pentecostal church with a friend. It was the pivotal point in my life. Even though, I did not give my life to the Lord until later, what I felt in that service left an impression upon me that I would never forget. A true visit from the Holy Ghost is always something that is unforgettable. A year later, I began having nerve and mental problems from LSD trips that I had taken. I turned to my parents and confessed everything that I had been doing. They took me to a psychologist, the only thing they knew to do. Of course he could not cure me. Out of desperation I turned to the Lord, and of course it was in the Pentecostal church where God had so wonderfully visited me earlier. (I never would have dreamed that one day I would be Pentecostal. I thought you folks were fanatics) After turning to the Lord and receiving the Holy Ghost, I received a peace from God that healed me of the problems that had been caused by drugs. This was 23 years ago. God has blessed me wonderfully with a great wife. I have two great teenagers. He also has blessed me with a career as a financial advisor, which he led me into a few years ago. Well here is a summary of my story! What yours? I'm looking forward to reading them, don't be bashful. |
Came to a saving faith in Christ in 1970 when was 19.
I had drank all thru high school and had been involved with recreational drugs for a couple years. 37 years later my faith has never been stronger. Jesus isn't the same yesterday today and forever. No , he gets better every day. |
Once upon a time there were three little pigs.
My brothers died, and I alone am left...... |
Raised in UPC all my life, although not in a strict environment at all. Never drank, smoked, or any of the other stuff that I could easily have gotten involved in. God spared me from all that stuff, thank the Lord! I was filled with the Holy Ghost in 1972 at the age of 15. Went to Bible college in Jackson, MS in 1974. Met my husband and have been in the ministry ever since. I have two great kids (25 & 18), who love the Lord. We are no longer UPC, but have been independent since June of 1991. God has been so good to us and has blessed us more than we deserve!

I have enjoyed reading the testimonies of the few who have responded.
However, it amazes me that we can post something really unedifying and controversial and multitudes of people will get in and respond. Ask someone to share something positive that uplifts Christ and hardly anyone on this forum wants to respond. Go figure???? |
Born into Apostolic assembly...heathen teenager (I can't post here), saved in a UPC church, now a heathen who is saved in a UPC church, he he!

Mmmm I'll try again.
Sin Commited = Too many to count Drugs Taken = Too many to count Offenses to God = Too many to count Calvary's Mercy = Priceless |
