if you had not grown up with a dress standard.
Does anyone else wonder. I was talking with my sister about Dora (I know ...are we running it in the ground yet?) and she says she is mad that UPC girls get to dress the way they do now. She said she had lots of people who would not talk to her because she dressed like a "freak". Of course I thought those where probable people she should not have been friends with..... So anyway, were we protected based on what we wore or did we miss out on fun stuff of youth? My sister and I were the only UPC girls in are area and we are 5 years apart.

I dressed the part until we left UPC in the middle of my 7th grade year. I saw no significant changes in how people treated me. I don't think my life would be any different. My legs would have been warmer in the winter in my pre-pants days. My mother always tried to dress us as stylish as possible within the dress code, though.
