More Islamic Appeasement

JERUSALEM -- Palestinian negotiators drafting an agreement behind the scenes with Prime Minister Ehud Olmert's office have made clear they will not accept any final peace deal with Israel unless the Jewish state forfeits the Temple Mount, Judaism's holiest site, WND has learned.

According to a report in Israel's Yediot Aharonot daily yesterday, Olmert is willing to discuss joint Israeli-Palestinian control over the Temple Mount complex. The report didn't state the positions of the Palestinian side on the issue.

A chief Palestinian negotiator, speaking to WND on condition his name be withheld, said yesterday, "there can be no agreement with Israel unless we get complete sovereignty of the Mount. Once Palestinian control over the [Temple Mount] is fixed, then we will make assurances for Jewish visits to the site."

The chief negotiator said aides from Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas' Fatah organization have been hammering out the parameters of a final status agreement for presentation in November at a U.S.-backed international summit regarding the Middle East.

Truely those that fail to learn history are doomed to repeat it. This never worked anywhere else. It hasn't worked for Israel so far. It only emboldens the muslims more

Prax, what do you suggest we do with the Palestinians? What do you think they should do for peace?

The Palestinians in general are not really the problem. It's the extremists in government and in the mosques who indoctrinate their youth to hate Israelis. They don't want peace. They don't want better living. They want to get ALL the land Israel is on and wipe them out. Giving them anything just does not do a thing for them. There isn't really much Israel can do at this point.

It is a difficult problem. The usual answer in most Muslim nations has been to "cleanse" the area of the offending populations. Using Turkey as a model - in 1923 the last of the Seven Churches of Revelation (Smyrna) and the surrounding region (Phocia) was depopulated of the their Greek speaking inhabitants. These people had been living there for over 5,000 years; and yet in the interests of "peace" they were forced from their homes by the International community and relocated.

Many have argued that since almost 1 million Jews were forced from their homes in Arab countries back in 1948, that a "population transfer" take place with the Palestinians being resettled like the Jews had to be. A vast sum of money and material resources were used to resettle the expelled Jews to new homes throughout the world, not just Israel.

Almost 20 million Germans were similarly resettled at the end of WW2. It's a hard thing to do, and expensive, but if like the German and Prussian populations of Eastern Europe, you have a national group that is persistantly responsible for causing wars in the region- move them out. That's been the International answer for all of these issues- except the Palestinian issue for some reason.
