Yesterday was a most solemn anniversary at my house met with reverence and some degree of sadness.

A backyard encounter that still meets with hushed whispers, solemn stares & few Giggles to boot.

I was preparing to celebrate yesterday by ordering a mass kull of all Skunks in Vancouver,:club but mercy changed my mind.
That and I did not have CS around to advise me how best to skin one of those creatures.:hypercoffee

Today in putting that chapter behind me, I have a day off to go to the Pacific National Exhibition (PNE) it is an annual rite of passage before going back to school.

Every kid in the schools around the Vancouver area get a free 1 day pass to get in.
Still, I feel like "assuming the position" against the wall when I enter.
ME-"Please sir don't hurt my kids-my wallets in my back pocket!"
PNE-"Is this all you have?"

I expect to drop a hundred bucks just getting the gate and getting ride passes! (PSSST-We are packing a lunch!)

So I pray that it doesn't rain (it is threatening) and we have some fun!
