That was amazing; I love it! Of course you know, Sam, that some on here will discredit these baptisms because of a) the formula; b) the hippie-looking guy preaching; c) the apparel of the women. How sad! Not many people will go down on Skid Row to do this type of work, but they can sit and criticize.

By the way, I was baptized in a horse trough just like this a long time ago! The preacher didn't look like him though.:killinme

Oneness people DO baptize on skid row and have churches in areas like that....

Do you believe in baptism in Jesus name? What's the point in believing in baptism in Jesus name if it doesn't matter?

Speaking of horse trough baptism, have you heard the Bridges Family sing their song about being baptized in a horse trough?

He baptized them in Jesus' Name.
And, how often did you hear them mention Jesus' name in that video?

I know He baptized them in Jesus' name, but he also said the other part that everyone on here seems to be insulted by.:hypercoffee

They definitely were going under knowing they were committing their lives to Jesus!!

We would never baptize any other way. It's what we understand from Scripture. It WOULD matter if we baptized any other way, because we would be wrong for going against we have seen in the Word.

I'm not accusing -- or complaining -- just asking:

Are you saying that, if someone has never "seen it in the Word," they do NOT have to baptize in Jesus' name?

Do you believe in the "Progressive Light" doctrine -- that a person is saved dependent on whether or not they obey the "amount of light" God has revealed to them?

Again, I'm just trying to clarify your statement.

Not sure about all that....I believe that baptism is in obedience to the work of salvation that has taken place at repentance. I believe that we are to do it in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, as we have seen it in Scripture. I do not believe that all others are lost, if they have come to know Him and have followed Him in baptism.

I know too many wonderful Christian people who are totally sold out to Jesus who have not been baptized in Jesus' name, but understood when they were baptized that they were being baptized "into Christ". To me, they are saints of God.
