Anyone into Drum Circles?

Anyone involved in, or familiar with Drum Circles?

How about Christian Drum Circles?

Different meanings for different groups.

Folks gather in a circle - each playing their own drums of choice. It is not a production or entertainment per say, but is an experience for all to participate communally.

Pagan and tribal roots - for sure.

Do you get to chant while in the circle banging the drum?

I like drum lines and sometimes they form circles.........:killinme

I am sure that can be incorporated. LOL!

My initial questions are serious - if anyone can comment from experience.

I guess it depends on motive. Seems like it's a way for some to let out the "savage" man.
But does drumming get God's attention?
Does God respond to us with a drumming in nature?

Here is an example of a small circle, though it's not really "Christian".

Right. Good questions that I would like to see answered in this thread - and hopefully including those who are or have been a part of circles.

I've never seen that before, but don't see anything wrong with it if done in the right way... it seems like something the new age folks would jump onto. lol.

It could have just been a really big drum circle when they marched around Jericho. ;)

The hippies were into this type thing (along with the weed and long hair) but they are making a huge revival around the world - including some "Christian Circles".

The new agers and pagan types definetly are into them. But I am not sure they need to be ascribed ownership of them all.
