REVIVAL, the 180 proof liquor, and REACHING THE LOST
Tonight, Coonskinner, in listing factors for why he thinks the movement has drifted left stated:

What's wrong with what he said? It's true.
Haven't you ever heard the old saying "Reach the lost at any cost"? Really? At ANY cost? I don't think so. I won't sacrifice my wife and kids well-being to reach the lost anymore. I learned that lesson the hard way. |
BTW, I personally, can't reach the whole world. I can only impact my circle.

I think we get too caught up with "revival". Why not just concentrate on doing what we need to do i.e. living for God the way we ought? If revival needs to happen, God will send it.
I'm talking about REAL TRUE AUTHENTIC revival. Not the kind where an evangelist comes in and gets everyone excited for a few days or weeks and then once he's gone it all goes back to "normal" again. |

I can't argue with that.

I agree with CS wholeheartedly!!!
It is almost like people keep pulling "slot machine handle" just one more time in meeting after meeting just to have "revival." Most folks don't have a clue of what the means. Most folks think revival is some sterile envirionment where all that basically happens is a huge amount of people get saved. In true revivals, people's sinfulness is revealed to them and it drives people to their faces first not their feet. Revival is held out to people like a piece of candy that is nothing but sweetness. It is arrogant for ANY organization to feel that THEY are the ones entrusted with the "holy grail" of the moving of God's spirit. |
