Time article on same day as TV resolution
 

A fitting article was written in Time Magazine the same day (Coincidently) as the TV Resolution passed.

It is entitled "Are Mega-Preachers Scandal-Prone?". It talks about superstar preachers, who are on TV and the various scandals that they are facing. It is very interesting.

It is interesting, believe it or not it was posted on a Thad thread when it came out on 9-30-07. No one read it there. :sshhh

Is it because good preachers are being corrupted by TV or is it that the good preachers that could handle it are not going on because of organizational rules?

Good point. The problem many have with the TV Resolution is that they can't see any way of doing a television ministry other than the ways its been done before.

As human beings we get locked into a mindset and simply cannot break free. Who says Apostolics have to do television ministry the same way as everyone else? Is that all we're capable of? No wonder the UC's fear change- change for them is always equated with the worst possible scenario.

With the new ways in which television programming is being distributed there are many viable business models for getting the message out without having to shellac your pompadour.

This is true, but don't forget history has a way of repeating itself also. ;)

If a Church was going to televise, couldn't they just televise some awesome worship (not necessarily shockamo). Wouldn't an awesome display of true Apostolic worship and praise (without having to shellac your pompadour) :p draw folks to that church?

Sure. I think whatever they do they ought to do in small doses on networks or forums that don't typically see a lot of "church" type stuff. And give it a different look and sound than the usual TV church show. Set yourself apart. Your message is different, so be a little different. Not "weird" kind of "different," just be fresh and new.

Your insinuations are that every one preacher on television desires an big time ministry and will be corrupted. Faulty logic, facts do no support what you are suggesting. Studies show the national ministries are a small portion of television ministries. The majority of television ministries are geared towards a local market.
