Attention all Parents with small children!

Ok, I am looking to buy a new stroller - I really want one with the baby seat that attaches and unattaches and as I have been looking, comparing and searching for that perfect one I noticed that alot of them will allow just about any car seat to attach to them - which would be great since I already have a perfectly fine car/infant seat, and while looking I noticed that the tandem or double strollers also fit the car seats in the back seat of the stroller - any infant car seat that is.

So, my question is for those of you with multiple small children what is or was convenient for you? My oldest is 4 I am due again in April. Will it be worth my money to invest in a double stroller or do you think my 4 year old will out grow it too quickly? Are they convenient or more of a pain to haul around a bigger stroller? I am just curious. My daughter is old enough to walk unless we are going to the zoo or an amusement park or something but I know that when I am pushing the baby around in a stroller she will be whiney wanting to ride also.

What are your suggestions???????????????

My girls are 2 years apart, and it was very convenient to have a double stroller when they were little.

You can always buy an inexpensive umbrella stroller later for the littlest one, which would replace the Big Daddy Stroller. (When your oldest child outgrows the stroller.)

yea...and when your kids are 5-6-7 and you are done with it, put the blasted thing on Ebay and sell it instead of asking your husband to store it in the garage or shed! Those things take up too much bloomin space and you end up getting paint and all kinds of grunge on it...

...yea, this post is about me, 100%! :killinme

I have to confess...I've been irrationally and inexplicably attached to Jeffrey's infant carseat. It's been sitting out in the garage for the last 3 years, and everytime Jeff has tried to get rid of it, I have resorted to everything short of temper tantrums to keep it! :heeheehee However, we are cleaning out the garage, organizing, installing shelving and all sorts of things this spring, and I finally was able to give him permission to...well...I really don't want to know what happens to it...I may be tempted to take it back or buy it back or go rummaging through the trash in a hysterical attempt to retrieve it, if he shares its exact demise!

I get attached to odd things...it takes me awhile to get rid of them, especially if one of the kids has ever touched, worn, laid on, spit on, pooped on, cried on, crawled on or otherwise lived on it. I'm sure this is probably something that should land me in Mommy Therapy.

Well, we don't keep much around our house because we don't have any storage areas other than a nasty basement that is almost a dirt basement!!

Does your hubby go with you most of the time when you would be needing the double stroller? If so, you could just get the single and then let him pull your other child around in a small wagon. That's just another option for you.

I've had a couple of double strollers over the years for my daycare. I have to be honest - I didn't like either of them. I finally decided to have one decent stroller for the littlest one and one umbrella stroller for the older one. Then I always make my mom come along or another adult or who can push one of the strollers. Let's face it, it's more fun to go with another adult along anyway :)

Check out the prices at a consignment store. They have double strollers at a good price.
