Many People are reported moving away from churches leaving the UPC..

I have seen reports of pastors saying their people are 100% behind them leaving the UPC and they leave but I have also heard reports of many family's leaving churches to go to UPC churches...

has anybody else heard this???

The UPC has been an institution in People's Lives concerning the Church...

Sheaves for Christ...Mothers Memorial....Foreign Missions....and Youth Camps... relationships....rally's... and so on...

I think while people may not want to disappoint their Pastor there may be some folks who decide it's not so great to be alone out there... and they will be alone.. most conferences...AMC and others are for Ministers only...

It will be interesting...

Yes I have heard this randy.

there are some that are so loyal to their pastors who are leaving that they told friends that if they stay in a UPC church they can no longer be friends.

then there are those who are leaving churches that are getting out of UPC.
they have too many roots in the UPC and not willing to give that up

There is a much bigger church family outside the UPC.

It's called the "Bride of Christ" There will not be a kids table at the marriage supper of the Lamb. It will be one table spread in splendor.

I can't wait to people watch as some of the folks freakout when they see who's eatin....

I think this is probably happening some, but what people don't realize is that there is a huge bunch of godly Spirit filled Christians outside of UPC. It is a comfort zone for many; I know it was for me. I didn't know there were camps, conferences, etc. for those who left, but there are more than you could possibly want to go to. And GOOD ones too!

But it IS scary leaving the mother ship. Been there....done that.

Yes, there are two UPC churches in our area that have recently pulled out of the organization. Is this a fad or what?

When I was ordained by the IMA in the mid-80s, it seemed most of its ministerial membership were former UPC. http://www.interma.net/about_us/index.html

I am no longer with them (no fault of theirs). As I look at their Statement of Faith, it looks like they are possibly now allowing non-Oneness ministers into their fellowship.

Just an FYI

Not to quibble too much, but you seem to have left the mothership for a good thing, Sheri.

Randy I think, is observing how there are some folks who are taking everything you walked away from and are using THAT for a reason to leave.

By all means, have Scotty beam you down to a habitable planet and have a great life. But the Tulsa folks are demanding to be beamed down from the mothership to the surface of the Moon. No wonder the sheep are busy trying to find ways to avoid that Away Mission.
