I have a son who's gone through brain cancer. Devastating and radically altered his and our lives. He's lost SO much and every area of his life is affected. Someone sent me a tape of Jeff Arnold to help me get back to "The truth", and in the middle of it says, "What's wrong with you people, ya got a tumor in ya head?"

Wow.

How do you think that hit us? It has nothing to do with being "sensitive", it just has to do with using even a tiny ounce of wisdom in making a point.

Does this kind of idiocy have ANY chance of truly be effective? Is there ANY biblical example of anyone speaking like this? What complete disrespect for others. Complete arrogance and disregard for anyone besides his own self. I can't stand it. There is no sufficient excuse that can be offered for that kind garbage.
I do agree with you. It's not funny and should be stopped. I don't want to be called a "cat" or anything other than a brother in Christ.

Having said that, I also understand Pentecostal circles have long done this and many enjoy it even when it's about themselves. I would not be surprised if this minister had said this with Murrell sitting there. It would not surprise me if he was closer to the Ewing family than you and I.

It's not uncommon to razz other ministers from the pulpit for their delivery, content or even their looks.

So very sorry for what happened about the "tumor" tape. How awful! Unintended of course, but no less hurtful for you. I will keep praying for you all.

I am a firm believer in the Old Paths
