King Solomon, writing by inspiration of God, wrote circa BC977, concerning the
"great whore" of Revelation chapter 17 (i.e.,
"mystery Babylon," the pseudo church system which would gain a place of dominance upon the earth before God destroys "her" by the glory of His coming) -
Ecclesiastes 7:25-26 (King James Version)
I applied mine heart to know, and to search, and to seek out wisdom, and the reason of things, and to know the wickedness of folly, even of foolishness and madness:
And I find more bitter than death the woman, whose heart is snares and nets, and her hands as bands: whoso pleaseth God shall escape from her; but the sinner shall be taken by her.
The
"death" which Solomon mentioned that is exceedingly
"bitter," is
not referring to the first death (which is "common" to all mankind), rather his statement notes the destructive, and utterly irreversible affects of the second death - eternal punishment in the lake of fire. This is what the corrupt, misleading teachings of the
"great whore" shall bring to all whom she snares!
