We know African American woman are choosing abortion. The question is, WHY are they getting abortions at higher numbers than other races?

To conclude simply "because they want to", or because they happen to be less moral than other races is overly simplified.

One of the possible reasons for high abortion rates could be that abortion is being advertised to minorities. I have no definite proof that abortion is pushed on minorities, but there seems to be a lot of evidence to back this claim. There are plenty of articles and documentaries made about this subject, google will give you plenty of sites which will explain this in detail.

All I know is, its no secret the majority of planned parent clinics are located in minority neighborhoods. Being a business major myself, I find it hard to believe this is random. Most businesses place their sites in strategic locations (near the targeted group) as a way of increasing the likelihood their customer will buy whatever their selling.

As I said before, its more than possible to market a product or agenda to a certain demographic group and get favorable results. How do you think businesses make money off new products? Surely you don't believe they push their products on random people. They find certain demographic groups, figure out their want/desires, and present their product with their specific needs in mind. Its all strategic, and its the same with political campaigns and agendas such as pro-choice.

With that said, whether abortion is pushed on minorities or not, its the only reason why AA's have higher abortion rates. A BIG reason why abortion is so high is because marriage rates are so low. For obvious reasons, unmarried women have more abortions than married women. Personally, I believe this is probably the main reason for high abortion rates than any other.

I also blame the black church for their part in this, more than the democratic party, but that's another story.

Maybe its a supply and demand thing. If the demand is higher in a group you cater towards them. I do notice you posted "could be", I have never seen an advertisement for abortion toweards AA. Never seen a abortion clinic in a AA neighborhood. Where are you getting info to make these statements.

I recently read a article that states its the AA being targeted is a myth and percentage rates are not accurate. Of course, I can't verify it.
