I wasn't intended to compare ANY woman raped to other crimes or offenses. I was comparing the responsibility we have to protect ourselves in all situations and when we allow ourselves to get to a point where we cannot do that, I believe we are responsible in part for what may happen. This isn't 'broad brush across the board' of course because I realize situations vary. As a woman, I do what I can to keep myself protected from anything bad that may happen to me.

I don't flash money around. I don't drink to the point of being inebriated. I don't use drugs. I don't disclose my location online and when I'll be leaving town. I don't walk in dark places alone. I don't meet strangers alone. I don't take meds from people I don't trust with my life.

Now, this doesn't mean nothing bad will ever happen to me, however, if I make myself vulnerable through my own actions, I believe I'm somewhat responsible for what happens because I put myself in that situation!

Also realize that what I'm posting is my opinion which I also live by. You may not agree and that's your right but living by what I believe doesn't make me disgraceful and I'm sorry you feel that way.

Sweetheart, I call a spade a spade. If the shoe fits then wear it. In your attempt to try and re educate users YOU are the one who sounds ignorant. Whether you feel I lack character or not is of no consequence to me. Your debate skills show me you are not someone whose opinion I value anyway.

This is what you said:

A girl getting drunk and then getting raped MAY be partially responsible because she was partaking in a situation in which she was unable to control herself. It's no different than someone drinking then driving and killing someone.

A woman drinking has nothing to do with her being raped, considering the numerous women raped while they were sober, yet are unable to fight off their attacker. Drinking is so commonplace in our culture, to condemn anyone for a crime committed against them while they were intoxicated is ABSURD.

A woman bears NO responsibility once she is raped. And comparing a woman being raped to drunk driving or your sons bike being stolen shows lack of sensitivity and grasp of what rape really is.

I find it pathetic you sincerely believe you may bear partial responsiblity if you were ever raped. Its this ignorant mindset is the reason why rape is one of the most unreported crimes in this county.
