Maybe a pastor is not "obligated" to do so. But the lack of it is alrming me. The attitude seems to be , "give me 10% of your money and I'll let you work in my church for free."

Would you really have wanted this Pastor to mentor you? Based on previous posts, you had issues with several things he preached and believed. If I was in that position, I wouldn't want to be mentored by someone with whom I had these kind of disagreements.
