Re: The Shack Movie?
This was years ago but I read The Shack. First my wife said everybody at her job was reading a book called The Shack. I was like whatever. Then I heard people saying it was a great book, you have to read it, it changed my life. So some how I got a copy (I don't remember if it was given to me or if I bought it at Goodwill for $1).
But anyway I don't have a problem reading whatever I want (as far as Christian books go). I have no hang ups of whether the author goes to the same church as me.
So I read the book. A major part of it is that the guy is in a shack with God and he interacts with the three persons of the trinity. God the Father is a outspoken black woman, Jesus is a Jewish carpenter and the holy spirit is an Asian woman?
Was the author trying to be controversial to get more attention for the book? Was he trying to make people think outside of their normal box of theology? I don't know. The thing is that I never recommended the book to anyone. He lost a bigger audience by pushing his insane idea of the trinity.
I am not bashing any Trinitarians. I am just saying this author went into left field.
