I've heard this before. I wish I was more familiar with the writings of the Founding Fathers to know what their answer might be to this particular reasoning. Had they all shared it, would we still be British citizens?
Personally, I think we have a responsibility- if we are to be a light in this world (Php 2:15)- that we use whatever means available to us to be an influence of light, including participating in a democratic process. If we are told to resist the devil that he may flee from us (Ja 4:7), if we are called upon to reprove the unfruitful works of darkness (
Eph 5:11), I believe sometimes that takes place in a public forum, including participation in a democracy.
