If your ancestors were white supremacists or slave-owners who believed that black people were less than human, then yes, your ancestors would be grouped in the same lump of hateful and evil men and women like Hitler.
Why would you want to hold on to anything connected to such a flawed and hateful group of people or anything that would commemorate their hate?

If your ancestors were hateful, racist bigots, they do not have to be a reflection of the man that YOU are today and I imagine it isn't because if it was, we wouldn't be engaged in a mutually respectful conversation.
