James refers to others as brothers and sisters throughout his writings. Verse one he addresses, "My brethren," and in verse two he says, ""For if a man wearing a gold ring and fine clothing comes into
your assembly, and a poor man in shabby clothing also comes in,"
If these were brothers, James would not have needed to distinguish or call it "your" assembly.
