It doesn’t seem to me that we have any scripture for Adam receiving the Holy Ghost.

It is a good point. What I am seeing here is that the first/natural man/Adam has a soul. The last/spiritual man/Adam was made a quickening spirit.
And in that order we are born/natural, then born again/spiritual.
