I have people heading back to Northport, Punta Gorda, today. 2.5 million people are without power. The hurricane made landfall on one of the smaller islands near Sanibel Island. My neighborhood did okay. We are without power, some trees are down, minimal property damage. I have wonderful neighbors we check on each other and help each other out. They all watch out for me in particular since my husband died and I live alone.
By the time Ian hit our area it was a Cat 1. My heart and prayers go out to those who bore the brunt of the Storm as a Cat 4. So devastating.
