Do you mean authors who wrote about early church history? Or authors who wrote during the first several centuries?

Eusebius is a good read, but like everything you need some grains of salt to go with it.

Gregory of Tours is also a good read.

Both of them of course are early/medieval catholics, so...

Bede's Ecclesiastical History of England is interesting if a bit dry.

Foxe's Book of Martyrs is good.

F. F. Bruce's New Testament History is in my opinion a must read.

Schaff has a History of the Christian Church whuch is online.

JN Andrews History of the Sabbath used to be online, not sure if it still is.

I used to have a book that I downloaded years ago which detailed early medieval church history from source documents throughout the period, but I can't find it and I can't remember the author or title. I think it was put out by the Church of God, 7th Day but I'm not sure. Very detailed.
