Why Can't Apostolic's call their Church Baptist?

Why not just be Baptist?
The book of Act's and Romans is full of Baptism teaching.
One Lord, one faith, one Baptism.

John the Baptist came preaching the baptism of repentance,

saying there was coming ONE after him whose shoes he was

not worthy to unloose. He would baptize them with the HOLY

GHOST and with fire. John said he (John) must decrease and

the One coming must increase. John was the messenger of

Malachi announcing the coming of the Christ.

After Jesus came, there were those who still followed John and

when John was in prison he sent two of his disciples to Jesus and

asked if Jesus was the one who was to come or should they look

for another. When Jesus told John's disciples to go and tell John

the lame walked, the dumb talked and the blind see, and blessed

is he that is not offended in me. Jesus and John were cousins. No

doubt there would be those who would have continued to follow

John if he had not been removed.

Evidently there are those who are still connected to John and

have not been connected to Jesus, through the Spirit. They are

called Baptists. But many have had their eyes opened and have

been baptized with the Holy Ghost, believing what John said.

Kind of like sometimes people say, Just believe on the Lord Jesus

and thou shall be saved. But they stop short. How can they believe

in him of whom they have not heard, and how shall they hear without

a preacher.

Why would we want to be called Baptists when we have gone further

and received the ONE John spoke about.

Just some thoughts!
