The purpose of music is to communicate. It is a language all its own. Yes, you can communicate with music in praise, in prophetic sounds as well as edify.
In the scripture that you quoted above...it clearly states that one is taugh and admonished in psalms, huymns and spiritual songs. It communicates. It teaches. It edifies. It admonishes. It is prophetic. I've seen it bring rebuke. I've been in meetings a few times that a Holy Ghost anointed musician would transcend his natural ability, go into a realm that it was no longer him either singing or playing. That is when angels give expression through that singer or musician.
