We have yahoos visit our store and offer us rediculous prices on our pianos.
I usually ask if that is the maximum amount that they can afford to spend, or is it the maximum amount that they are willing to pay for that particular piano!
If its all that they can afford to spend, I'll move them to something closer to their price range.
If its all that they're willing to pay for a particular piano, I usually smile and dismiss them as not being a credible buyer. I'll try my best to once again establish the value of the piano. Hopefully, they'll make an offer closer to what I can accept or I can give a counter-offer to.
I will never give a counter-offer to a rediculous offer. I will stick to the established price! The reason is because rediculous offers are a waste of both of ours time! If the yahoo is serious about his offer, I'm better off to blow him/her off and concentrate on serious buyers.
